Little Red Hen??

IMG_8507

Today I ground wheat and grated zucchini.

I made 6 loaves of zucchini bread. This is

my 3rd batch of breads. I’ve made 16 loaves

in the last few weeks. My first batch I added

chocolate chips. Because, years ago I had a friend,

who also had a lot of kids, and she told me she

added chocolate chips to all of her breads, to get

the kids to eat them. Anyways, that recipe sticks to the

pan and looks bad. But, it is delicious- moist and sweet.

The other recipe I use, is slightly sweet. I think it actually

would hold up in a toaster. It’s from an old James Beard

cookbook. Beard on Bread. I’ve had the book so long it is

actually in three parts now. There is not a recipe I have not

liked. I have made the Brown Bread in a can many times,

and it always comes out perfect. The Sally Lune recipe is

fast, easy and delicious. Excellent for a soup side, and

toasts beautifully too. Of course, I do not feel like The Red Hen.

In truth, I enjoy making bread as much as anything I do. I also

like giving it away, storing it in the freezer for just the right time,

and the way the house smells.

TOH to date 672 hours and 10 min.

My acorn squash look like small watermelon- I suppose

squash of any kind, looks so much alike in the beginning.

I guess we will wait and see…
