Since I was a girl I had a library card.
Now I have 4. I know that’s not that
many, but it’s plenty for me. Recently I
started listening to audio books. I
get it, these have been around forever,
but I have never benefited from them.
Mostly, because I fell asleep listening
to them. My friends and book club peeps
listen as they walk or while in a car.
Some while they garden.
I took some time in the last few weeks
to figure it out. Libby, is a library
program that you can check out
books on line and/or listen to audio
books. I have a little Friday morning
job that makes listening to a book very
doable. So I am blowing through the
audible books. Even so, it’s just like everything else,
I have to limit the time I do it.
In the last three weeks I listened to
Absolution by, Alice McDermott.
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.
Tomorrow I start The Tennis Partner, by Abraham
Verghese. Thanks to the librarian I spoke to
on the phone. She helped me to add a library.
Do you see the three squiggly lines, she asked.
And, yes I did. It was the ticket to more libraries,
and more loans…
