This is the part of the trail closest to the house.
Usually I run each part of the trail twice.
One morning I noticed something black hanging
from the branch overhead. It was a bat!
I turned around and ran the other way.
One morning there was a red fox. It’s ears were big.
It freaked me out I yelled at it.
One morning there was a large possum. Yikes.
One morning there was a turkey-it turkied away.
One morning there was a snake. They don’t scare me.
Then one morning the across the street neighbor’s dog
met me – at first it straddled the trail and dared me to come closer.
I yelled at it, “Augie Doggie you go home.” It bolted past me.
Most mornings I don’t encounter anything but the trail.
Even so, I am wary of this area. I don’t like to be freaked
out, especially in the morning. And especially in my own woods.
Love these stories – you make me laugh!
Oh good-life is funny-isn’t it.
