So, last night was book club night. We always
eat together at book club. Late last week I texted
out to the group: Double Chocolate Mousse Cake??
That was the beginnings. Dinner ideas came next:
lettuce, cherry tomatoes. hard boiled eggs, turkey bacon,
avocado lime dressing, …You know all of it. We filled in.
We worked from the cake backwards, and came up with a
great salad. Yesterday afternoon I baked the cake-no mousse-
I’ve never made it before, so I went with the frosting I was
familiar with. Which still required a double boiler, sour
cream, 60z of semi-sweet chocolate… I was pleased enough
with the outcome. A funny text came in at at 5:42 – 48 minutes
before book club: I picked up some
cookies from the store too. I didn’t see any desserts listed.
The text person just had a baby- do you remember what your
mind is like after you just had a baby? She has a toddler too.
So I took a picture of the cake in the fridge and sent it to her.
Our minds are everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
Isn’t it challenging to keep it together?
Grace, grace to us all.
