Two evenings ago I mixed up my last batch of
banana bread. To this batch I added cocoa powder
and chocolate chips. I greased and floured seven small
loaf pans. Poured the batter in and placed them in the
oven. I set the timer and went up the stairs to read my
book club book. I quickly fell asleep. Apparently the stove
started to smoke. Thank God one of my grown
girls alerted me to the possible calamity. Mr. Fix-it
did not see it or smell it! After a brief bit of door fanning,
and running the kitchen ceiling fans top speed
the little smoke out abated. After he saw it, Mr. Fix-it did say
“It’ll burn itself out”- I don’t know what started it
but it did burn itself out. Just like he said.
