We are just one sleep from leaving
South Dakota. It is a lovely state. It
does rain unexpectedly and thunders
and blows some pretty strong winds.
On a hike through the Cathedral Spires
we participated in what the trail site map
referred to as, rock scrambling. Afterwards
we went in our blow up Kayak around the
small Sylvan lake. Rock formations surrounding
us on all sides.
Custer Park is a beautiful Park. We visited Mt. Rushmore-
Crazy Horse, Wild Life Loop, the Needles Hwy.
Hubby fed donkeys- fields full of them. In the end we did
ride more of the Mickelson Trail today. The weather looked
clear when we started but quickly turned stormy and we quickly
turned around at mile 5 when the lady peddling from the opposite
direction loudly said lot’s of lightning ahead. We got slightly wet
on our jackets before we arrived to shelter.
Total outside hours::446
P.S. Did 110 miles total on the trail
