Hummingbird Season…

Last night was book club

We read Saving CeeCee Honeycutt,

by Beth Hoffman. I ended up reading

on my i-pad. Not a totally new experience.

I prefer the physical book but we had

trouble finding enough.  For sure, it is easier

to read in bed because you don’t need a light.

It was a good book for book club discussion.

An upbeat story. Each of us usually rate the

book. We were going around the table with 8’s

and 9’s till one of the ladies pointed out no arc

no plot no story line I’m giving it a 4. That’s

book club for you-varying opinions, likes and dislikes.

Definitely lively discussion. Which in my mind that’s

a good book-if it brings lively discussion. It was easy to read.

It was also a perfect book club book because of the food.

The story is mostly set in Savannah, Georgia. We had

fried chicken, homemade dinner rolls, homemade

macaroni and cheese, collard greens, peaches, and

hummingbird cake with cream cheese frosting.

Everything was delicious. One of the ladies

referred to the cake as divine!

I love Jesus, Mr. Fix-it, family and life!

I don’t like driving in the rain or sleeping in.
