Last summer/spring a friend from tennis
suggested – I could take a shower outside from our
pop- up camper. Just wear a swim suit and do it she said.
We got a small tent for the outside shower-
no swim suit necessary. She also suggested I could pit all
my cherries by hand using my thumb to push out the pit.
I have spent the better part of 3 days picking and pitting cherries.
Hubby helped pick.

I made the mistake of filling the colanders
too full. It really mashes the cherries.
And did I mention the stickiness of cherries…
Your shoes, your forearms, even my face.
All from the push back -spray- of the pretty little cherries.
Thank God I am not camping and taking
an outside shower-even if it is tented in.
P.S.
I don’t remember who suggested I freeze them onto
a cookies sheet and then store them frozen. I have been
doing that for years. This is my first year to can them.
