We had a very exciting September full of
activities, camping,hiking, biking,
fishing and even swimming. Early in
September we left for Wisconsin. First,
we stopped in Ankeny, Iowa to ride the High Trestle Trail.
Unbelievably beautiful!! We went on from there into
Wisconsin to visit with a good friend, who lives on 34 acres.
She housed us for the night, fixed us delicious food, and
took us along on her walks with her well over 100 lb. dog,
appropriately named Samson. In the morning she sent us
off with full bellies We set up camp overlooking
Lake Superior. Beautiful views and much to do.
Visiting with old friends and even some colleagues of hubbies.
We had outdoor activities galore.
Including taking a ferry and bike riding Madeline Island.
I think it was the first time I drank coffee after bike riding to warm up!
We hiked, biked, visited…
We traveled to Minocqua,Wisconsin and camped another week.
We rode bikes on the Bear Skin Trail and the The Manitwish
Waters Trail. We hiked several lake trails, all beautiful.
We had lovely weather for most of the trip.
There was not a meal or a cup of coffee that was
not delicious. My outside hours have benefited greatly. I have listened
to the audio book Anne of Green Gables at night three times through!
And if you can imagine, my scope for imagination has sky rocketed.
Total Outside Hours to Date: 656
