Today I made a submission to
a writing contest. It’s sort of nerve
racking to do this. Making sure you
do all the little prompts correctly- upload
the right files, capitalize the title, word count.
And then begins the waiting- for
a rejection- or accepted e-mail.
Mostly, the work is rejected. And that’s
not me being negative. That is reality.
I’ve read and heard pep talks about getting
a thicker skin to be able to handle the
rejections. Some people take it as a badge
of honor to be rejected.
Yesterday our youngest grand child painted
the picture above. She finished with a flourish.
Not a bit nerve racked. Never expecting rejection.
Never doubting her work.
Not even for a second.
She’s kid safe.
