This morning hubby and I went for a bike
ride early to beat the heat. There is a park we
stop at in Camden, Missouri. I was waiting
for hubby while he finished up in the rest room.
A lady was dog walking 2 dogs across the road.
I moved my bike off the walking path to make
room for the dog walker. She had on the big
headphones that some people wear, instead of earbuds.
I thought how they must be hot. I was hot
in my bike helmet. I wanted to know if she
was from the small community. I wanted
to chat it up with her. In fact I prepared
myself with questions- but she good morninged
me, and hurriedly walked on by. I figured she was listening
to an audio book. I suppose if it is the only time she
had to listen to her audio book, it makes sense to not
stop for strangers, even if they do place their bikes off
the path.
It was such a let down.
I was chat ready.
But no chat for me…
