A few years ago we were in Wisconsin.
It was the first time I had seen the
beginnings of homemade vanilla.
It was in a friends basement. Just
cover the beans with alcohol, she said.
I am just now trying it. I have filled various
jars with a few vanilla pods each and poured
vodka over them. I am looking forward to having
vanilla extract in about 6 months.
After all of that fun, I went ahead and picked
my basil plant bare. Presto pesto, is not
possible. Pesto is super messy to make and
I have yet to find a blender, food processor, or
gadget that is easy to work with! Anyways,
I keep, mine in the freezer in pint jars.
