We packed up camp early this morning. It was
in the 50’s and damp. We had a few hiccups,
quickly remedied. Like the electric cord, seen
from the rear view mirror, hanging off the camper.
Oops. I was driving when it started to sprinkle.
I turned on the windshield wipers and watched
to see if the oncoming cars were wet or had their
wipers on. When we switched drivers outside
Peculiar, Missouri, I texted one of the grown girls.
We’re about an hour out, is it raining there?
We were home, unpacked, and in the middle of laundry
load number two, when the answer came. No it’s not.
I snapped this little picture on the way up the
basement stairs and sent it in response.
Nothing like being home. Clean toilets, showers,
laundry, fridges, bed sheets! All of it. No matter
how much I enjoy the away- there is nothing
like the back home.
