I’ve just finished Rosamunde Pilcher’s book- Coming Home.
The book was a great read. The author was able to keep
my interest for 728 pages. And much like that old coffee
commercial – “it was good to the last drop”.
I was enmeshed into Judith’s world, and what she
had to live through. Not to mention the many characters
she lived it with. And the author also used place very well.
Not only descriptively, but I could feel the cold damp in Cornwall.
As well as the sticky heat in Singapore. Beautiful story. I didn’t
want it to end. I got the title from my across the street neighbor’s
book club list. She does hers a year in advance. My book club we
pick as we go and…
I sorta, kinda put myself on a PIP- Personal
Improvement Plan. Which included read better literature, and finish the
book club books! I’m involved in two now.
Recently finished:
Tom Lake by Anne Patchett
The First Ladies by Marie Benedict
When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin
This is Happiness by Niall Williams
Need to finish:
After This by Alice McDermott
The Measure by Nikki Erlick
It’s been cold and rainy, a good time to sit under
a throw and read.
