In the middle of baking cookies I always
consider cookie bars. The temptation to
smoosh the batter into the baking pan
instead of spooning each cookie onto the
tray is most compelling to me. Usually
I resist. Today one of my daughters,
who was helping me in the kitchen, said
she turns the temp from 350 to 425 and
cuts the baking time by a third and it makes
for a crisper, chewier cookie. We did a test
batch at 350 for 12 minutes than switched to
her method. I liked it, and the shorter bake time
will keep me from the temptation to smoosh cookie
dough. One of our grand kids refers to me as Gigi cookie.
Hopefully she will like oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
