I didn’t yell or even slightly raise my voice.
Instead I used a sing songy voice at them.
I said, “No need to move, you don’t want to go in
towards the lake. Its frozen.”
But, they did not listen, and they all started honking and
waddling towards the frozen lake. The thing is,
I had to turn around after about 500 yards. The sidewalk was
to icy and I had on crummy shoes. So, I had to walk right back to
where they were making their way out of the frozen lake. This
time I did not say anything to the ducks. They didn’t listen to me
the first time. What was the use?
I feel like that, and not just with ducks…
