One of my granddaughters wrapped
up some of her tiny trinkets,
put them in a little bag and tied
it with a piece of yarn. She visited from
out of town not too long back and spied
the bag on a dresser. Where did you get these?
I reminded her that she had given them to me.
Can I look at them? Of course I told her yes.
Can I have this? She held up a necklace.
Of course I said yes.
I thought how cool it was that she had forgotten
that she gave me the things in the bag – and I had held
them for her in safe keeping.
Isn’t that a bit like what the Father God
does for us? He holds our trinkets in safe keeping-stuff
we don’t even remember that we have given Him. I think of all the
tiny trinkets I have bagged up over the years -time, desires,
talents. He holds them wrapped tight
and waits for us to ask for them back.
And of course He says yes.
Love this!
