We went away this last weekend.
It was HOT. We bicycled in Nebraska.
Nebraska is beautiful with wide open skies.
You can see for miles because it is
so flat.We had a good time in spite
of the heat. Even though the skies
were beautiful I never took a picture
of them. I rode my bike surrounded by
them. It was a lovely weekend. We got to
see one of our grown girls- which is always
a thrill! I ate a homemade monster cookie
and drank a packet squeezy drink for the first time.
It was not only delicious, I felt much
better after I drank it. Our grown girl
shared it with me. We took the scenic way home
and it stormed like crazy.
I somehow wheeled in to a pretty thick stick and
got a nice gash in my calf. Even so, this was the first time
we had an emergency kit with us and I cleaned it pronto.
I am always amazed at Mr. Fix-it who finds our way on
trails, to trails, and around strange cities. I could not bike
anywhere but in my neighborhood if it wasn’t for him.
Here he is looking at the map at one point in the ride.
The picture in the header was a sort of clue for us in case we got lost. The
trail had no markings. The picture also has a bit of Nebraska sky in it!
