Spring is wicked and torrential, windy and ugly.
When it begins to warm and blossom
some of it does not bloom. Like the lilacs and the magnolias
or the peonies aren’t as full. Maybe its the drought of the summer
before that killed them, or the crazy cold of winter.
I am sad for them. I suppose I could’ve covered some
of them and they would’ve survived but I don’t always think.
In a human’s case, I suppose it’s the same.
Pay attention to weather reports and
prepare for dangerous frosts and inclement conditions
and drink more water during the droughty times.
Sometimes nature gets fooled and things bud early
because they think it is going to get warm and then they
get froze out or don’t come to fruition like they are supposed
to – it can be like that with people too.
The Bible says in Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast
love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end:
they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
He never forgets to cover His plants.
