The Long Way Around

IMG_2107

Shortcuts are uncertain. When we are on a hike

we see many shortcuts– skinny foot paths off the

main trail. They are not on the map. When I was in

my 40’s a friend and I ran our long runs on

Saturday mornings together. Sometimes we took a

supposed “shortcut”. Often it added an extra mile or

two to our run. Now, I have no desire to get off the

beaten path.  Even if it means I have to take

the long way around.

I like plants and tennis and book club and classical music and small bowls of ice cream.

I love Jesus, Mr. Fix-it, family and life!

I don’t like driving in the rain or sleeping in.
